Clare qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2005 in the UK, where she worked for the NHS. She moved to New Zealand in 2009 with her husband and pets and is now a proud NZ citizen. She has worked primarily with adults in the community, as well as in prisons and secure units. Clare started her small private practice in 2010 alongside her Te Whatu Ora work and now work full-time at Psychology Works NZ.

Clare works with adults (aged 18 and over) experiencing a range of mental health issues, including anxiety/panic, worry, stress, depression, OCD, and trauma. She is trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Self-Compassion work, Brief Solution Focused Therapy (BSFT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) - you can read more about these approaches here.

Please note, Clare does not offer couples therapy, Court reports or assessment reports for Oranga Tamariki.

Clare aims to be approachable and flexible and enjoys helping people to overcome their difficulties and gain practical skills that will be helpful for life.

She also offers clinical supervision for psychologists and other mental health professionals.

Clare is registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board and is a member of the New Zealand Psychological Society.

Fees

Initial Assessment $230 + GST (60 minutes)

Follow-up sessions $220 + GST (50 minutes)

Affiliated with Southern Cross health insurance and EAP providers, including Clearhead, Modern Health and Spring Health

ACC registered for sensitive claims therapy
